Steph Willding
Steph Willding is the Chief Executive Officer of CommunityHealth, the nation’s largest volunteer-based, free health center that provides critical health care access to uninsured patients. Steph has committed her career to rebuilding health care systems to increase access to care, deepen service availability, and improve health outcomes. She is a seasoned thought leader with a documented record of increasing and diversifying revenue, using data to improve and adapt program performance and advancing organizational goals through strategic and annual planning..
Prior to CommunityHeath, Steph served in leadership roles at Erie Family Health Centers and Chicago Family Health Center. Steph is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of Free and Charitable Clinics. She is also proud to serve as a Board Member for Planned Parenthood of Illinois Action and as an Executive Advisory Board Member for the UIC School of Public Health. She holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Illinois at
Chicago, and a B.A. in International Studies from DePaul University. Steph is proud and honored to be a Class of 2023 Carol Emmott Fellow and in 2022 she was named Crain’s Chicago Top 40 Under 40. In 2024, Steph was selected to be part of the Leadership Greater Chicago Class of 2025.
Outside of her work in health justice, Steph’s passions include urban container gardening with her husband at their home in Chicago, spoiling her two rescue dogs, Formula 1 racing, and running marathons.
