Rosie Drumgoole
In August 2023, Rosie Drumgoole began her tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Chicago Cares. Rosie started at Chicago Cares as a program coordinator in 2010 and, after 13 years of committed service, knows Chicago Cares inside and out. Having supported the success of Chicago Cares' Community Investment Strategy for the last 6 years, she has an excellent reputation across Chicagoland and is a trusted partner to Chicago's most dedicated community leaders. Through her leadership, Chicago Cares has cultivated thousands of volunteers to build a stronger, more equitable Chicago.
Rosie brings a lifelong commitment to service and a wealth of experience and wisdom around civic engagement, bridge building, and race equity to the role. An experienced nonprofit leader, Rosie is
certified by the Association of Volunteer Administrators and is a graduate of the Allstate Foundation Executive Leadership Program and the American Express Leadership Academy. Rosie was appointed by Governor J.B. Pritzker to serve as a Commissioner on the Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service and also serves as Vice President of the Deborah’s Place Board of Directors.
Prior to becoming CEO, Rosie served as Chief Program Officer at Chicago Cares where she led a diverse and dynamic team to mobilize volunteers, equip civic leaders, and help local communities achieve their strategic goals. Rosie holds a B.A. in Journalism and Public Relations from Northern Illinois University and is a lifelong resident of the Chicago region. She lives in Lombard with her husband and toddler daughter.
