Good Deed Day

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Volunteer Program Manager Jacob Jenkins, Commissioner Amy Rueff, and community members teamed up for International Good Deeds Day. U of I Extension Macon County donated their kitchen, while local certified food handlers donated their time and expertise. Local volunteer groups such as Tribe of Judah Steppers, Eva Clark, Ms. Toni Catering, John Philips, and TheIncSpot all worked to ensure that unhoused community members could enjoy lunch and dinner. On behalf of the Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service, we thank Decatur for participating in International Good Deeds Day.
