Benjamin Kagan

Benjamin Kagan is a high school senior at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago, and is an engaged vaccine advocate. In February 2021, Benjamin founded the Chicago Vaccine Angels, a group of 50+ adult volunteers working to get vaccine appointments for healthcare professionals, senior citizens, and essential workers. Benjamin and his team directly booked COVID-19 vaccine appointments for more than 10,000 individuals at a time when the demand for shots far exceeded the supply. He also runs a Facebook group with more than 75,000 members, where people share and receive COVID-related information and tips. In addition to Benjamin's public health work, he is an active athlete and plays varsity soccer and baseball for his school. At Francis W. Parker School, Benjamin is Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, Founder

of the Jewish Student Connection Affinity Group, and an active Model UN delegate. He currently serves on the Chicago Mayor's Youth Commission and is a student representative to the Illinois High School Association. Additionally, he has served as a United States Senate Page sponsored by Senator Tammy Duckworth. Benjamin is very passionate about volunteerism efforts, and looks forward to sharing a youth perspective with the commission.
