National Service Summit

The Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service is pleased to announce its Illinois National Service Summit! We are seeking qualified presenters to present in an in-person format for a 45-minute session. An honorarium of $300.00 is now available for presenters! Please note that IDHS Staff, Serve Illinois Commissioners, and grantees are not eligible for the honorarium.

The summit will take place on Monday, May 20th, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Crowne Plaza West Loop Chicago 25 South Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60661.

Event Overview

The Illinois National Service Summit is the annual assembly of AmeriCorps members and stakeholders in Illinois. This event is designed to celebrate our AmeriCorps members while introducing young people to the wonderful world of National Service- most in the age range of 18-28 years. The members will serve for a year (sometimes two years) with a sponsoring organization/institution.

These organizations/institutions are also our partnering awardees for AmeriCorps programming in Illinois. Our AmeriCorps partners have sites all over the state. Representatives and member supervisors from these agencies will also be present at the event. The event will include networking opportunities, and relationship-building activities along with workshops in the areas of community-based skill-building, professional development, or personal growth and development. Serve Illinois is looking for qualified individuals to provide workshops in these areas. If you are a talented presenter and would like to provide a workshop for either of these audiences, please submit the form with the requested information.

Please note the summit is hosted in person, presenters should have experience presenting and engaging a live audience, providing survey tools, and content development. Technical assistance will be provided leading up to and on the day of the event.
